Spellman is truly a special place. Through service and community, I was able to deepen my faith and my connection with myself and others. Spellman taught me what it means to be a well-rounded person, and it gave me the inspiration and confidence to want to make a difference in this world.
Serving their Community, their Church & the World
Our students embrace the call to serve by bringing hope and kindness to those in need. Through volunteer work, they make a positive impact, locally and globally, embodying the values of faith, compassion, and community.

Spellman offered me a family like environment with teachers, staff, and my peers that I would not have had if I attended any other school.
Rooted in a Vibrant Lived Catholicism
In the classroom, our students wrestle with the big questions life presents, and our faculty and staff lead them in exploring the answers from a Catholic perspective. In the community, our students engage their faith through acts of service, recognizing Christ in their neighbor, and in worship, our students are excited to express their gratitude to a God who never disappoints!
Maximize their Unique Potential as Learners & Leaders
Every student is encouraged to discover and develop their individual strengths, both in and out of the classroom. Through personalized guidance and leadership opportunities, they grow into confident, compassionate leaders prepared to shape the future.

Experience Transformation
What We Do
Spellman is dedicated to providing opportunities for students to maximize their potential within a Catholic environment. Our students are encouraged to engage across a variety of experiences of school life, embodying a true renaissance spirit. A scholar who is also a midfielder and a servant leader, this is the Spellman experience!
Academic Philosophy
At Spellman, our search for truth begins with an “uncommon core” extending beyond reading, writing and arithmetic and into the search for meaning and our Creator.
Theology
Students of all faiths are welcome at Cardinal Spellman High School. The Theology faculty works closely with each student to foster their faith development.
Innovative Programming
Innovative programs like Young Investors Society, Personal Finance and Entrepreneurship empower students with real-world skills and experiences beyond the classroom.
Robust AP Offerings
Our diverse selection of AP courses allows students to explore a range of interests, from the humanities to the sciences. With options from Psychology to Art History, students dive deep into subjects they’re passionate about while earning college credit. Spellman is one of the few schools that offers AP courses to freshmen.
Dual Enrollment
Our dual enrollment partnerships with Stonehill, Regis, and Laboure offer students a head start on college-level learning across various disciplines. Our unique Healthcare Pathways program prepares students for a career in the medical field.
Experience the Renaissance
The Renaissance Person
Our students are encouraged to engage across a variety of experiences of school life, embodying a true renaissance spirit. A scholar who is also a midfielder and a servant leader, this is the Spellman experience!
At Spellman, students gather in Mass to grow spiritually, reflect on their values, and build a deeper sense of community. Immersing themselves in this meaningful part of school life not only strengthens their faith but also nurtures compassion, mindfulness, and gratitude. These are all key qualities of a well-rounded, Renaissance person.
At Spellman, the performing arts play a vital role in a well-rounded education. Whether you’re on stage, building a set, or cheering on your classmates from the audience, everyone has a part to play. These experiences foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration. These are all key qualities of a true Renaissance person. Through music, theater, and dance, students learn to express themselves, support one another, and thrive in all areas of life.
We believe a well-rounded education goes beyond the classroom, and travel plays a vital role in shaping Renaissance individuals. Immersing students in new cultures, histories, and perspectives enriches their understanding of the world and fosters personal growth.
Through educational trips, service projects, and cultural exchanges, students gain invaluable experiences that deepen their empathy, spark curiosity, and build lifelong skills like adaptability and global awareness. Travel allows them to connect classroom learning to real-world contexts, developing critical thinking and a broader perspective on their place in the world.
Fine Arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, fostering creativity and self-expression while developing students into true Renaissance individuals. Through visual arts, music, and theater, students explore their unique talents and gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty and power of creative expression.
Athletics are a cornerstone of a well-rounded education, shaping students into Renaissance individuals through teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Our approach emphasizes the development of the complete athlete, one who embodies our school’s core values of academic success, family, leadership, faith, and service, all while striving for top athletic performance.
Campus Ministry is at the heart of a well-rounded education, nurturing students' spiritual growth and helping them develop into true Renaissance individuals. Campus Ministry provides a space for reflection, connection, and action, fostering a deeper understanding of self and others. It equips students with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with compassion, resilience, and a strong moral foundation. Whether participating in a service trip, attending a retreat, or simply supporting a friend in need, students learn to live with purpose, lead with empathy, and serve with love, preparing them to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
Ministry trips provide students with life-changing opportunities to live out their faith and embody our school’s core values of faith, family, leadership, academic success, and service. These experiences immerse students in communities where they can make a meaningful difference through service, connection, and compassion.
Whether building homes, supporting local charities, or mentoring children, ministry trips help students develop a deeper understanding of social justice and their role in creating a better world. They cultivate leadership, empathy, and resilience while strengthening bonds with classmates and fostering personal growth.
Our academic programs and robust elective offerings provide students with the foundation to excel academically while exploring their passions. From rigorous college-preparatory courses to unique electives in fields like engineering, computer coding, environmental science, creative writing, and personal finance, students have the opportunity to challenge themselves and grow into well-rounded Renaissance individuals. How about taking a course on the history of Boston sports?!
Participation in sports teaches students to set goals, work collaboratively, and overcome challenges both on and off the field. Beyond the physical, athletics at Spellman build character, promote a healthy lifestyle, and instill values that last a lifetime.
Music is a vital part of a well-rounded education, inspiring students to express themselves creatively and develop into true Renaissance individuals. Through choir, band, and other musical opportunities, students cultivate their talents while gaining an appreciation for the discipline and beauty of music.
