Program Overview
Cardinal Spellman High School, a Catholic, college-preparatory high school competing in the MIAA, seeks a highly qualified Assistant Varsity/JV Boys Lacrosse Coach for the 2025–2026 spring season. This position is ideal for a driven, knowledgeable coach who brings collegiate playing experience and a strong background in youth lacrosse, and who is eager to help build a competitive varsity program grounded in discipline, accountability, and leadership.
Spellman Athletics is committed to excellence on and off the field, developing student-athletes who compete with integrity, resilience, and respect while representing the mission and values of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the varsity girls lacrosse program
- Plan and run high-tempo, competitive practices focused on skill development, lacrosse IQ, and team systems
- Provide position-specific instruction and individual player development
- Support game preparation, scouting, and in-game coaching adjustments
- Help cultivate a culture of commitment, accountability, and competitive excellence
- Mentor student-athletes and serve as a positive role model consistent with Catholic values
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaching staff, parents, and athletic administration
- Ensure compliance with MIAA rules, league regulations, and school policies
Required & Preferred Qualifications
- Collegiate playing experience (preferred)
- Prior coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or elite youth level (preferred)
- Coaching experience with a reputable youth or club lacrosse program (strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of boys lacrosse rules, strategies, and player development pathways
- Ability to teach, motivate, and develop student-athletes in a competitive environment
- Commitment to the mission of Cardinal Spellman High School and Catholic education
Requirements & Compliance
- Ability to commit to all practices, competitions, and team events throughout the spring season
- Completion of all MIAA coaching requirements, including but not limited to:
- NFHS coaching certifications
- Concussion training
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CORI/SORI background checks
- VIRTUS training
Compensation
- Seasonal stipend commensurate with experience and school guidelines

Boys Varsity Tennis Coach
Position Summary
Cardinal Spellman High School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Varsity Boys Tennis Coach for the upcoming season. The successful candidate will lead a competitive program while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth consistent with the mission of a Catholic high school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily practices focused on skill development, strategy, conditioning, and match preparation.
- Coach and manage the Varsity Boys Tennis team during all competitions.
- Teach and model sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and respect.
- Support the academic success and personal development of all student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with the Athletic Director, players, parents, and school community.
- Ensure compliance with all MIAA, league, and school policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with Cardinal Spellman’s mission and values.
- Assist with program development and collaboration within the tennis program as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior high school or competitive tennis coaching experience preferred.
- Playing experience at the collegiate or competitive club level strongly desired.
- Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, match strategy, and player development.
- Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes in a faith-based educational environment.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of all required MIAA coaching certifications.
