Music
The music department at Spellman is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and engaging musical education that meets students at all levels of development. Whether students are just beginning their musical journey or looking to refine their skills, the department offers both curricular and co-curricular opportunities to suit individual needs. Co-curricular offerings include participation in both liturgical band and choir, allowing students to engage in a wide range of performance experiences.
Our diverse range of courses, such as Concert Band and Concert Choir, provide ensemble performance opportunities, fostering collaboration among peers. In addition, we offer foundational and advanced courses like Piano 1 and Guitar 1 and 2, designed to build and enhance technical proficiency in these instruments. The curriculum blends practical performance with theoretical knowledge, allowing students to explore music theory, history, and composition alongside hands-on practice.
By offering individual instruction, group performances, and academic study, Spellman’s music department cultivates musical talents, encourages creativity, and prepares students for a wide range of opportunities—whether in higher education, professional careers, or personal enrichment.
