Appalachian Service Project 2020

"At this time, based on recommendations from national health officials, the Appalachia Service Project has made the difficult decision to suspend their summer volunteer hosting for the summer of 2020. Please direct any questions to Mr. Jason Deramo, Director of Campus Ministry, at"

Cardinal Spellman High School has been committed to serving our community, church, and world for over sixty years. This coming June, CSHS will be taking 110 people (80 students and 30 chaperones) to West Virginia to make homes “warmer, safer and drier.” An objective of this trip is to foster an awareness of each student’s personal worth and dignity and develop an appreciation of and respect for the differences and diversity of others. Through this service trip, students will have an opportunity to fulfill this objective by “accepting people right where they are, just the way they are,” the philosophy of service of A.S.P.

If you would like to support us as we repair the homes for families struggling with poverty, while helping to cultivate and nurture a service heart in our community, please consider donating to Cardinal Spellman’s Appalachian Service Project. Your donation, regardless of size, is greatly appreciated. We are well aware that monetary efforts alone will not help us achieve our mission, so we ask for your prayers that we might bring joy and Jesus to the people of Appalachia.

Supporters will receive a personalized postcard from our group sharing our experiences in Appalachia, and expressing our gratitude for joining our team in this way. Thank you for your support!
