Spectator Policy

Cardinal Spellman High School
Athletics Spectator Policy

There have been some recent changes to state guidelines for gathering at outdoor and indoor venues; however, with the understanding that COVID numbers are trending up, we have created a school policy to limit the number of spectators at both indoor and outdoor athletic competitions held at Cardinal Spellman this fall.

Indoor fall athletic competitions, e.g., volleyball, will be unable to admit spectators from the visiting team. Each varsity player from Spellman's team will be able to admit one family member. The maximum occupancy in the gymnasium will be 22 spectators. All games, varsity, and JV will be live-streamed. More information will be shared soon on how to access the live-stream.

Outdoor competitions, e.g., Boys and Girls Soccer, will be limited to 50 spectators in the stadium. Spectators will be limited to one family member for each varsity and JV athlete on both home and away teams.

Lower field competitions will not allow spectators inside the fence. Spectators may watch from outside the fence.

General guidelines. Under the current policy, we will be unable to allow student fans admittance to the gymnasium and outdoor stadium as guests for fall sporting events. All spectators must remain masked and socially distant by 6 ft in the gymnasium and outside in the stadium.

Games and meets held away (off-campus). Spellman spectators must respectfully adhere to each school's policy. E.g., Cross Country meets will be held at Bishop Feehan; therefore, spectators will need to adhere to Bishop Feehan's policy regarding spectators. Spellman spectators should check each school's spectator policy before traveling to an away game. Please remember that policies are subject to change during this challenging time.
