Campus Ministry at Cardinal Spellman High School

Spellman is a school community where at the heart of our school is our Campus Ministry program, animated by the Holy Spirit, who is the giver of all good things.  Working in conjunction with the Theology Department, Campus Ministry ensures the spiritual and human formation of all members of the Cardinal Spellman community. Mindful that not every student and family shares in a common faith, we strive to be both inviting and respectful of each person’s tradition and personal experience.

High school is an amazing time in a young person’s life. Our students are growing intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Campus Ministry is integrated into the every day culture of our school, which allows our students to have a personal and meaningful relationship with God and with each other. At the heart of Campus Ministry is community. Everything we do is rooted in sharing a common experience with others and making God real in the lives of our students.

We are so blessed to have many of our students actively involved in every aspect of our Campus Ministry programs. Students are encouraged to integrate religious academic study with their daily lives, to be role models to others, to participate in prayer and worship services, to make good moral choices and to reach out in service to others.

A very unique aspect at Spellman is our Senior Ministry program. Working in conjunction with our Director of Campus Ministry and our Theology Department, our seniors are co-workers in the vineyard. Their senior year Theology classes are set up to give all students an experience of church ministry. Our students run retreats, lead Adoration and other liturgical and prayer services. They run blood drives, advocate for life, do outreach in the local community and beyond, set up prayer according to the liturgical calendar for each school day and witness to our faith through social media.

Our Campus Minister and Theology Department is available to pray and meet with students and staff throughout the school day. We can also be reached via phone or email to accept prayer requests from our families and alumni as well.
