MONTHLY LITURGIES

You haven’t experienced a Mass until you’ve been to a Spellman Mass! Our students, teachers, and families gather every month for our school liturgy in our auditorium. We are led each month by a dynamic priest and our 80-student liturgical choir! Our students are active participants in our monthly liturgies and we encourage our families and alumni to join us whenever they can!

Our dates for 2024-2025 school year Liturgies are the following. All Liturgies begin at 9:15am unless otherwise noted.

May 2nd (First Sacraments Mass)

May 9th (Seniors Last Liturgy)

FRIDAY MORNING MASS

Every Friday at 7:10am, our chapel is filled voluntarily by our students and teachers for a Mass before school begins. It is a beautiful and peaceful way to begin our school day. Following the Mass, students are invited for donuts and refreshments in our campus ministry center before going to their first class.

MONTHLY ADORATION

Led by our Senior Ministry, Prayer Posse, our students gather once a month for Eucharistic Adoration, an ancient tradition in our Church where we gather together before the Blessed Sacrament to pray for our intentions and those of our school community.  Some years, these services will also include praying the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet & Healing services, or our own “TPT-style” prayer.

VETERANS DAY PRAYER SERVICE

Led by our Senior Ministry, Holy Heroes, the Spellman community gathers in the auditorium to pay tribute to the men and women in our country, most especially those from our community, who have served our country in the armed forces. It is a moving and touching tribute that includes guests speakers and a slideshow of active military, veterans, and deceased veterans of our community.  This year’s Veterans Day prayer service is on November 8th, 2024 at 9:00 am.

ADVENT & LENT PRAYER SERVICE

Led by our Senior Ministry, God Squad, our school community welcomes in these two important liturgical seasons each year as we are centered upon the unique ways we are called to grow in faith during Advent and Lent. 

TPT – That Prayer Thing

One Wednesday a month from 5:30 - 7:00pm our students are invited to the chapel for TPT. Initiated and run by our senior ministry, Holy Heroes, the night of prayer begins with an opening song, Scripture reading, and a testimony/witness talk from one of our seniors on a theme for that month. There is then time for students to pray using various forms of meditation and prayer to focus them. After the prayer time, students gather in our Campus Ministry Center for pizza and drinks.
