CLASS RETREATS

Every student once a year attends their class retreat, led by one of our senior ministries. Our retreats offer our students time to grow in their faith through student-led witness talks, where members of our senior class offer their personal testimony of faith and hope. Each retreat is geared towards the class they are intended for, while incorporating games, skits, prayer, and music into every class retreat.  They take place within our school day, and every student is expected to attend the retreat as it provides further opportunity for our students to socialize and grow with one another in their class.

SENIOR KICKOFF RETREAT

As every senior is integral to the leadership within their assigned senior ministry, all begin with a retreat geared towards team building and servant leadership. This full-day retreat, usually conducted before the first day of school, gives our seniors an opportunity to begin their senior year off together and in prayer.

FRESHMAN FIELD DAY

Within the first few weeks of school, our freshman gather together for a field day that is run by members of our Lead program. Having already become familiar with Spellman, this field day gives our freshman time to bond with new classmates through Olympic-style games, spiritual preparation, and more. 

FAITH RALLY

Once a year, our entire school community gathers for an all-school retreat day. In the past we have had national speakers and musicians to lead us, such as Bob Lesnefsky (“Righteous B”), Fr. Leo Patalinghug, John Paul Von Arx, Chris Padgett, Maggie Craig, Grassroots Films, and many more.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC YOUTH CONVENTION (NCYC)

Every two years in Indianapolis, Indiana, over 20,000 young people attend a conference like no other! Spellman is proud to attend this conference, which brings in the world’s top speakers, musicians, and faith leaders for a four-day conference in the spiritual life.
